Andras Miszkuly, who has over 20-years experience of working in professional kitchens and private care homes, will define the creative direction of the Oak and Honey restaurant at Homewood Grove.

Homewood Grove, the contemporary integrated lifestyle community for the over 60s in Ottershaw, Chertsey, has appointed Hungarian born, Andras Miszkuly, as Head Chef at its new stylish on-site restaurant Oak and Honey ahead of its official opening in May.

The appointment signifies an on-going commitment from award-winning retirement developer Rangeford Villages, that from the food served at the new village to the extensive facilities, residents and guests can be assured of hotel-like quality standards.

Beccy Gunn, village manager at Homewood Grove commented: “This is a very exciting time as we prepare for the village’s grand opening and the launch of the Oak and Honey restaurant which is set within in our stunning new village at the heart of the Pavilion. We are delighted to have appointed such an experienced and high calibre chef as Andras to ensure that our residents and guests receive the highest quality of service. We looked forward to seeing what is to come with Andras at the helm.”

Miszkuly has over 20 years’ experience working in professional kitchens and private care homes. His passion for cooking was ignited at the tender age of eight-years old, whilst cooking pasta with his grandmother in her kitchen back in Hungary. Since then, he has gained many years of experience developing his culinary skills and taking inspiration for his cooking from his travels around the globe, in particular to Asia and around Europe.

Miszkuly will play an important role in defining the creative direction of the kitchen and will be responsible for ensuring a first-class offering at the new restaurant, which will be open to the general public, with a weekly ‘specials’ menu for residents. He says: “Rangeford Villages has set a new standard in retirement living here at Homewood Grov, and the entire development has been finished to the highest quality and standard; I want to ensure that the food we serve reflects that quality.  I am pleased to be joining the team here at the Oak and Honey restaurant and bar as we embark on this exciting new journey. Starting from scratch means there’s lots of scope for me to be able to put my creative flair on the dishes we serve here, always with a focus on using the freshest, seasonal ingredients and designed to showcase the very best local produce.”

“I am really looking forward to making my mark and establishing Oak and Honey as a stylish and relaxed dining destination, and the place to be for excellent, quality dining in Chertsey.”

Miszkuly will also be working closely with the village gardening team, on plans for the development of the village’s kitchen garden and allotments, to ensure a farm to table approach is adopted throughout.

The Oak and Honey restaurant is set to be one of Chertsey’s most stylish and relaxed dining destinations. The restaurant will be open daily, and the spacious eatery will provide a comfortable setting, and a perfect place to enjoy place to enjoy brunch, lunch or dinner.
