Rangeford Villages Celebrate with Topping Out Ceremony for Latest Lifestyle Village Homewood Grove, Chertsey

February 2023 - Award-winning later living specialist Rangeford Villages had good reason to celebrate, as it hosted a ‘Topping Out’ event to mark a major building milestone at its latest lifestyle focused community for the over 60’s, Homewood Grove near desirable Chertsey.

Joining the celebration on Wednesday 1^st February was Dennis Brown from the Royal Egham Show, Nick Wood Dow, Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey, who both lent a hand with the centuries old tradition of blessing the building with a yew tree and the four symbolic elements of wine, oil, corn and salt, alongside Howard Nankivell, Chief Executive of Rangeford Villages and Richard Poulter, Managing Director from Willmott Dixon’s Central South region.

Marking the occasion, Howard Nankivell of Rangeford Villages commented: “One of Rangeford’s key objectives is to continue to deliver high quality, eco-friendly, service-led later living solutions to meet the needs of the ageing population in the UK. Set in leafy countryside to the west of Chertsey, Homewood Grove will consist of 116 one, two and three bed apartments along with outstanding communal facilities.  Willmott Dixon was appointed to complete the £43 million construction, which began in May 2022 with first completions scheduled for late Autumn 2023.

 Sustainability is at the heart of Homewood Grove’s design and properties will be highly energy efficient with each apartment featuring underfloor heating, double-glazed picture windows and an all-electric energy system to help lower bills and reduce the environmental impact. Other initiatives include solar panels, electric car charging points, and an electric pool car will be available for residents’ use. 

In addition, Residents will also benefit from a number of state-of-the-art amenities, including a wellbeing centre (pool, steam room and sauna), gym, dance studio, bistro and bar, a members’ lounge, village hall and a hair and beauty salon.  The community will be staffed 24/7, and each home will be fitted with electronic tablets to receive updates on activities and social clubs at the village and to request emergency assistance. 

 Homewood Grove is conveniently located to close to the historic market town of Chertsey with its abundance of shops, restaurants and attractions, and is very well connected with easy access to the M25, as well as excellent rail links into central London, just under an hour away. There will also be direct pedestrian access to neighbouring Homewood Park, which offers 23 hectares of nature trials, pathways, cycle routes, horse trails.
