Norman and Pat Fuggle have moved to Wadswick Green at the end of August 2015, after living in their four-bed property in nearby Yate / Chipping, Sodbury for 12 years. Retired for a few years, the couple has a busy diary as they dedicate their spare time to their local church and are keen travellers with an interest in National Trust destinations. Moving to a 60+ development wasn’t on their wish-list of things to do in their retirement. Pat comments: “Like most people our ages, we weren’t planning to move to a so called retirement development but it felt like the right thing to do after visiting Wadswick Green.

“I think a lot of people are waiting far too long before moving to a 60+ property and it ends up being a forced decision. We realised that if we made the step now, rather than later, our overall lifestyle would improve immensely and we could fully enjoy our new freedom as Wadswick Green is managing everything. I no longer have to worry about the garden or cleaning the windows!”

With all responsibilities of a family house being taken care of by Wadswick Green, The Fuggles now spend more time with their large family of four children and 10 grandchildren – all living only a 10-minute drive away. A keen cook, Norman is often using the kitchen to host their circle of friends in their new 2-bed apartment.

He adds: “Initially, some of our friends were surprised to hear about our decision to move whilst others have actually been inspired to look into 60+ properties themselves. One thing they have realised is that the term ‘retirement development’ shouldn’t put them off.
