Rangeford Villages, the contemporary retirement village specialist, is proud to announce that it has won the ‘Best Retirement Living Group award’ at the Leaders in Care Awards, sponsored by Autumna, and ‘Best for Landscaping or Outdoor space’ at the Retirement Living Awards.

The Leaders in Care award recognises the retirement living developer that has gone above and beyond in the last year to grow their business and blaze a trail for the ever-expanding industry. Meanwhile, the ‘Best for Landscaping or Outdoor space’ award was given to Rangeford’s Wadswick Green Village near Corsham, Wiltshire. The grounds feature a range of outdoor communal spaces for residents to enjoy, including a village green with croquet and boules greens, flower beds and an area of land for a local beekeeper, that provides residents with direct access to local honey. Green fingered residents are also welcome to make their contribution to the village’s gardens through the provision of allotments, troughs full of herbs, raised beds and a potting shed. The gardens are maintained all year around by an onsite, full-time landscaping team, led by local Head Gardener Chris Liversidge, who create a colourful showing throughout the year.

Over the past year, Rangeford Villages, under the leadership of new Senior Development Manager, Martin Bates, has expanded rapidly as 13 acres of new space are currently under development, as well as a string of land purchases in the pipeline.

The Leaders in Care awards reception, which took place at the Imperial Suite of the National Conference Centre (NCC) in Birmingham on October 11, 2023, was attended by 350 senior executives from across the housing with care industry to celebrate their achievements in driving innovation and providing outstanding, person-centred care over the last year.

The event is the second hosted by Care Home Professional editor Sam Lewis and Home Care Insight editor Gemma Lloyd.

From Rangeford Villages, Amanda Valentine Bunce, Head of Marketing, and David Kanarens, Head of Operations, attended the Leaders in Care ceremony.

Meanwhile, winners of the Retirement Living Awards were announced during a lunchtime reception in the Retirement Living Theatre at the Care Show, NEC Birmingham on October 11. The award was presented by Alan Dedicoat, voice of Strictly, and received by Rangeford Villages’ Doug Jones, Land and Planning Director.

Commenting on being crowned winner of both prestigious award, Amanda said: “We are really pleased to have won this award, as it is a testament to the innovative ideas that the Rangeford Villages team put into creating beautiful retirement homes, and landscaped grounds for our residents to enjoy.

“The Retirement Living accolade celebrates the high standards that Rangeford Villages sets, and we’re delighted that the judges have been impressed by our approach to luxury retirement living, at Wadswick Green village.”

Howard Nankivell, Chief Executive Officer, added: “We strive to raise the bar for retirement living, creating thriving new communities which promote healthy active lifestyles, hobbies, friendships, and wellbeing, and so we are absolutely delighted to accept the award.”

Rangeford continues to work in partnership with Octopus Healthcare, the leading UK healthcare property investor, which has led to the creation of five successful retirement villages across the UK: Wadswick Green in Wiltshire, Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire, Homewood Grove in Surrey, Siddington Park in Gloucestershire, Strawberry Fields in Cambridgeshire, as well as the recent land acquisition in Dorking for the development of a new integrated retirement community.
