Mickle Hill is just so wonderful

10/04/2019 General, Mickle Hill

Janet Ainsworth, 76, lived with her husband of ten years Neil in their family home in the Lake District when they made the decision to downsize. To move into their new home as quickly as possible, the couple opted for a part exchange to speed up the process. Janet comments: “It wasn’t the most economical option but I don’t regret it at all! The staff at Mickle Hill were just wonderful, they helped us every step of the way to make the moving process go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.”

The retired solicitor’s secretary quickly settled into her new life in North Yorkshire. “There’s so much to do around here and it’s a beautiful area. The Dales aren’t far of course, but the sea is only 30 minutes away too. We also have the Scarborough Steam train, and Pickering itself is a lovely market town.”

The decision to move so far away from their former home had at first stunned their 3 children and 8 grandchildren. “They hadn’t even seen Mickle Hill before we moved in, so it was a big shock. But positive! They understood why we moved here immediately when they came to visit, it’s just so wonderful, they realised that instantly.”

Janet, Neil and their cockapoo Honey moved into their new £252,000 two-bedroom pavilion apartment in February 2017. “Honey loves the apartment and running on the ground floor patio, she’s so full of energy. She’s a great constant companion, and I’m really happy she was able to move in with us.”

About Pavilion Apartments:

Janet, Neil and Honey moved into a £252,000 two-bedroom apartment at Mickle Hill in the central location of the Pavilion, which offer the most convenient access to the village’s hub facilities. Each apartment’s interiors have been carefully designed to be modern but equally functional, to make life as easy as possible.

All apartments are for example fitted with 24-hour emergency alarm system as well as an audio and video door entry system for enhanced security. Wet rooms also offer step free access in and out of the shower for residents, as well as a pull cord for emergencies. Plug sockets throughout are at waist height, and the heating can be adjusted easily from room to room. The pavilion offers ample car parking, lifts to all floors and wheelchair access for all apartments. Included telephone and broadband access also allows residents to remain connected to their friends and family.

Residents and locals alike also benefit from a wide range of onsite amenities. The village’s entertainment hub the ‘Pavilion’ boasts a cinema, hair and beauty salon, gym, spa, library, convenience shop and café bistro, whilst the adjacent landscaped gardens with outdoor seating embrace the natural surroundings.

To ensure all resident needs are catered for, Rangeford Holdings has teamed up with national older person’s charity MHA, which provides a wellbeing service. Those who might need extra help with household chores such as cooking, cleaning and shopping, or assistance with dressing and bathing are able to access the support when they need it. Dedicated to making residents’ lives easier, MHA’s friendly team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
All properties at Mickle Hill also come with a National House Building Council guarantee, which covers against build defects for 10 years, giving residents reassurance that their home is protected.
