New Later Living Lifestyle Community Coming to Surrey

28/06/2021 General, Homewood Grove

Award-winning later living specialist Rangeford Villages will launch a brand-new lifestyle community for the over 60s, Homewood Grove, near desirable Chertsey in Surrey. The 4.7 acres village will offer 140 one, two and three bedroom apartments and cottages complete with exclusive onsite amenities and 24/7 support services. The first showhome will be available in Spring 2023 and the first residents are expected to move-in in Winter 2023.

Set in leafy countryside 1.5 miles to the west of Chertsey, Homewood Grove is conveniently located to enjoy the many attractions that Surrey has to offer. The new later living village will be home to a number of state-of-the-art amenities to encourage residents to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. Facilities will include a wellbeing centre (pool, steam room and sauna), gym, dance studio, bistro and bar complete with a coffee shop, a cinema room, village hall and a hair and beauty salon.

Residents at our retirement village in Surrey will be able to be as relaxed or as active as they please and will have access to an array of groups and clubs for an enriched life including fitness classes at the gym, walking clubs, Zumba, dance, boules, croquet, golf simulator, arts and crafts and book clubs. Optional tailored wellbeing plans will also be available to help residents seamlessly transition into their new home and integrate themselves into village life.

Homes will be built with the needs of over 60s in mind to allow them to live independently with confidence. They will feature single floors, open plan layouts to help mobility and modern shower rooms with easily accessible walk-in showers. A variety of spacious layouts will be available ranging from 700sqft to 1,200sqft.

Properties will be highly energy efficient and include modern features such as underfloor heating, double-glazed picture windows and an all-electric energy system to help lower bills and environmental impact. Electric car charging points, pool cars as well as communal transport will all be available for residents use. The community will be staffed 24/7, and each home will be fitted with electronic ‘InfoNet’ tablets to receive updates on activities and social clubs at the village and to request emergency assistance.

Residents will live among fully manicured gardens, with an outside terrace off the bar and bistro, great for socialising with friends and neighbours, and a boules court and croquet lawn. There will also be direct, convenient pedestrian access to neighbouring Homewood Park, which offers 23 hectares of nature trails, pathways suitable for wheelchairs, cycle routes, horse trails, and woodlands. Renowned Foxhills Country Club, its two golf courses and facilities are also next door.

Homewood Grove will offer concierge-style services, as well as personalised, CQC registered care and support services through Rangeford Care; a company solely dedicated to providing custom care and support packages for any residents who may need help with daily tasks such as getting dressed, washing, preparing meals, housekeeping and even companionship. St Peters Hospital is also located nearby.

Rangeford Villages has teamed up with Octopus Real Estate, part of the Octopus Group and a leading investor in healthcare facilities throughout the UK and Ireland, for the project. Once completed, it will be operated by Rangeford. The established partnership between Rangeford and Octopus Real Estate has already led to the creation of three retirement villages across the UK: Wadswick Green in Wiltshire, Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire, and Siddington Park in Cirencester.

Howard Nankivell, Chief Executive Officer at Rangeford Villages comments: “We are delighted to bring our later living lifestyle model to Surrey. Homewood Grove will have so much to offer new residents with a wide range of state of the art communal facilities, outside space and dedicated resident areas to enjoy. It’s a popular location, with great connections to the rest of the country enabling friends and family to become frequent and welcome visitors.”

Nankivell adds: “We design our communities to allow over 60s to enjoy their retirement to the full and to not only live but to thrive. Every aspect of Homewood Grove will be designed based on the feedback we received from our other villages, so that residents can enjoy an independent lifestyle that is best fitted to their needs.”
