New Refreshed Menu Launched at The Greenhouse

With a new year comes new resolutions, new change and for Wadswick Green’s The Greenhouse Restaurant – a brand new menu!

In celebration of The Greenhouse’s new menu, carefully curated by Head Chef Leon and his talented kitchen team, Wadswick Green’s residents were treated to an exclusive preview of the new dishes during an evening of fun and delightful canapés prior to the menu’s official launch.

The event saw residents and guests welcomed into The Greenhouse with a glass of prosecco, or a delicious fizzy elderflower alternative for those participating in an alcohol-free ‘Dry January’.

With an impressive 152 residents in attendance, The Greenhouse was filled to the brim with hungry guests ready to try the hotly anticipated dishes. Our very own Master of Ceremonies, Village Manager, Raf Marques, carefully introduced each item while the locally sourced delights were being served. The Greenhouse waiting staff, always praised for their cheerful smiles and positive attitudes, were on top form - chatting with residents as taste tests including Confit Duck Parmentiere, Sautéed Black Cabbage with Roasted Butternut Squash, and Wood Pigeon with a Berry Coulis were served.

Many of us see the fresh start of January as good motivation for a health kick. For those participating in month-long healthy lifestyle regimes, such as eating the plant-based diet promoted by ‘Veganuary’, Wadswick Green’s team of professional chefs have ensured the new menu features alternatives to suit all dietary needs. The vegetarian and vegan options even turned out to be the highlight dish for many attendees. “You can barely tell the difference!” commented one resident on the Bang Bang Cauliflower, a vegan alternative to the traditional bar snack of chicken wings.

To further please vegetarian and vegan customers, Head Chef Leon is currently working on a vegan flatbread to accompany dishes such as the Celeriac Brulée with mushroom soil and the Vegetarian Carrot Risotto. With such delicious meat-free and dairy-free alternatives on offer at The Greenhouse, sticking to those new years healthy eating resolutions couldn’t be easier.

Wadswick Green resident, Sheila Diviney, was full of praise for the entertainment and dishes labelling it “absolutely 5 stars”. Sheila and the rest of her table further commented how wonderful it was to see The Greenhouse alive with buzz and laughter after the desolate effects of Covid-19 on the hospitality industry.

Another resident told us she was so impressed with the new menu, that she couldn’t wait to treat guests to a trip to The Greenhouse, “This evening has been superb!”, she said feeling newly encouraged by the event’s “10/10” atmosphere to invite visiting friends and family along next time.

The surprise vote of thanks and raucous applause from our residents to congratulate the kitchen, front-of-house and management teams on such an enjoyable and delicious evening speaks for itself. The night was a raging success, with well-fed and “slightly squiffy” residents leaving Wadswick’s latest event praising the good food, lively atmosphere and great company.

Village Manager Raf, delighted with the night’s turnout, said, “It really is a special event. When they’re happy, I’m happy!” in reference to his valued residents and Greenhouse customers.
